Event Cleanup Checklist Template
A systematic teardown and cleanup plan that gets you out of the venue on time and in good standing.
Cleanup is the least glamorous but most consequential post-event task. Venues charge overtime fees for late load-out, deposit returns depend on venue condition, and rental equipment has strict return windows.
This template organizes cleanup into a prioritized sequence: immediate teardown (time-sensitive), equipment return and vendor load-out, lost and found collection, waste management, and final venue inspection.
Includes a crew assignment structure, cleaning supply checklist, and a venue walkthrough form for documenting condition and securing deposit returns.

Tips for Using This Template
Create a cleanup crew call sheet with names, roles, and start times — send it the day before.
Take photos of the venue before setup and after cleanup to document condition for deposit return.
Start teardown of non-visible areas (back of house, storage) while the last session is still running.
Have large garbage bags, cleaning spray, and paper towels on hand — do not rely on the venue providing them.
