    How It Works

    1. Scan attendee QR codes with your phone camera — works just like a regular scanner.

    2. If offline, scans are queued locally and synced automatically when back online.

    3. Real-time sync status badge shows the count of pending check-ins waiting to sync.

    4. All synced check-ins appear on the dashboard immediately — no manual action needed.

    Getting Started

    Step 1: Get Admin Access

    Your event organizer adds you as a Mobile Admin collaborator.

    1. 1Ask the event organizer to go to Dashboard > Collaborators
    2. 2They add your email with the 'Mobile Admin' or 'Check-in' role
    3. 3You receive an email invitation to join the event team
    4. 4Accept the invitation and sign in to the webMOBI app

    Step 2: Open Admin Check-In

    Navigate to the Admin Check-In screen in the webMOBI app.

    1. 1Open the webMOBI app on your phone
    2. 2Navigate to the event you are assigned to
    3. 3Tap 'More' in the bottom navigation bar
    4. 4Select 'Admin Check-In' from the menu

    Step 3: Start Scanning

    Point your phone camera at attendee QR badges and results show instantly.

    2. 2Point your phone camera at the attendee's QR badge
    3. 3The result (success, duplicate, or error) appears on screen
    4. 4Tap 'Scan Next' to continue scanning the next attendee

    Online vs Offline Mode

    Online Mode

    • Scans are processed immediately on the server
    • Green "Online" indicator displayed at the top
    • Instant success or error feedback after each scan

    Offline Mode

    • Scans queued in local SQLite database on your device
    • Purple "Pending Sync" badge shows queued count
    • Auto-syncs when connectivity returns

    Sync Status Screen

    Managing Your Sync Queue

    The Sync Status screen shows all offline check-ins and their current state. Access it from the Admin Check-In screen by tapping the "Pending Sync" badge or the sync icon.

    View Queued Check-ins

    See all queued check-ins with their current status: pending, synced, or failed.

    Sync Now

    Tap the 'Sync Now' button to manually trigger a sync when you have connectivity.

    Retry Failed

    Tap 'Retry Failed' to re-attempt syncing items that failed during the last sync attempt.

    Clear Synced

    Remove successfully synced items from the queue to keep the list clean and manageable.

    Troubleshooting

    Camera doesn't work

    Check camera permissions in your phone's Settings > Apps > webMOBI > Permissions and ensure Camera is enabled.

    Sync fails repeatedly

    Verify your internet connection is stable. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or move to an area with better signal.

    'Not authenticated' error

    Sign out of the webMOBI app and sign back in. Your session may have expired.

    Duplicate scan concerns

    Duplicate scans are handled automatically by the system. Scanning the same badge twice will not cause data loss or double check-ins.

    Security & Privacy

    • All scans are authenticated with your login credentials
    • Offline data is stored securely in the app's private SQLite database
    • Data is encrypted in transit during sync
    • Only users with the checkin permission can use the admin scanner
