You are the merchant of record. You handle your own ticket tax and GST.
For every ticket you sell on webMOBI, you are the seller and merchant of record - not webMOBI. The transaction runs through your own connected payment gateway (Razorpay or, soon, Stripe), and the money settles directly to your bank account.
Because you are the merchant of record, you are responsible for charging, collecting, reporting, and remitting any applicable tax (such as GST/VAT/sales tax) on your ticket sales.
To see your settlement schedule, payout history, and any refunds or chargebacks, use your Razorpay Dashboard (or Stripe Dashboard once Stripe charging is live). webMOBI shows your registrations and ticket sales; your gateway is the source of truth for money movement.
Because you are the merchant of record, taxes on your ticket sales are entirely your responsibility. webMOBI does not calculate, collect, file, or remit tax on your behalf.
This guide is general information, not tax or legal advice. Tax rules vary by country, state, and event type. Consult a qualified tax advisor for your situation.
Refunds and chargebacks are settled against your gateway account, since that is where the funds landed. Process refunds through your gateway, and account for any tax already collected on a refunded ticket according to your local rules.
